In 2001, under the leadership of Bobbie Kennedy Sanford, Empire members were faced with the delima of a local builder not paying a commission to agents representating buyers.  Robert E. White and Linda M. Avery formed a committee that challenged the builder on behalf of the Empire Board.  After several meeting, the matter was resolved with a 3% commission and other bonus offers.

In 2002-2003, the Board's office was renovated under the leadership of Dr. Linda M. Avery, partnerships increased, scholarships increased and membership rose to the highest figures ever.  New technology was implimented and website with membership application online.
